Collection of Albertina


Located in the historic heart of Vienna, Austria, in what used to be the largest residential palace during the Habsburg monarchy, the Albertina is an art museum with world renown for its graphic art collection.  The museum houses nearly 65,000 drawings and nearly 1 million old master prints as well as modern graphic works, photographs and architectural drawings.  Albertina has also recently gained two significant collections of Impressionist and early twentiethp> century art.  Famous pieces by Rubens, Schiele, Cézanne, Klimt, Kokoschka, Picasso and Rauschenberg are displayed on a rotating basis while works by Monet, Degas, Renoir, Beckmann, Macke, Chagall, Malevich, Rothko, Rainer and Katz are on permanent display.
