Collection of The Art Gallery of Ontario


The Art Gallery of Ontario (the AGO) is an art museum located in Toronto, Canada’s Downtown Grange Park district.  The museum was founded in 1900 as the Art Museum of Toronto.  Today, it is one of the largest art museums in North America with a facility of 583,000 square feet.  The collection includes over 80,000 works dating from the first century to present day.  There is a large collection of Canadian works as well as works from the Italian Renaissance, Mannerist, Baroque, Dutch Realist, Expressionist, Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary styles and movements.  Masterpieces by Anthony van Dyck, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh, Claes Oldenburg, Andy Warhol among others, can be seen at the AGO.
