Collection of Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek


Located in Copenhagen, Denmark, the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, known simply as The Glyptotek, is an art museum of ancient cultures of the Mediterranean as well as Dutch and French Art from the nineteenth century.  The collection is built around the personal collection of founder Carl Jacobsen who hoped to enrich his fellow citizens with art of international stature.  Founded in 1888 the museum has two main collections, antiquities and modern art.  There are over 40 works by Gauguin, a series of Degas’ bronzes, and 35 sculptures by Rodin along with works by Cézanne, Van Gogh, and Monet
