Collection of Neue Pinakothek


Neue Pinakothek, or New Pinakothek, is one of three big art galleries in Munich, Germany.  This art museum displays over 400 works of European art and sculpture from the eighteenth and nineteenth century.   The museum was founded in the mid nineteenth century by Bavarian King Ludwig I in order to house his collection of paintings and is known today as the most important museum of art of the nineteenth century in the world.  Neue Pinakothek includes works from Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, Gustav Klimt and Manet.
