Collection of Soumaya Museum


The Museo Soumaya, or Soumaya Museum, is a privately owned art museum in Mexico City, Mexico.  The museum is owned by Carlos Slim Foundation and holds an extensive collection of over 66,000 pieces including religious relics, historical documents, a coin collection and works by European artists from the fifteenth to twentieth century.  One of the museum’s highlights is the large collection of sculptures by Auguste Rodin.  Other notable artists’ works on display include Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Leonardo da Vinci, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Joan Miró, Vincent van Gogh, Henri Matisse, Claude Monet, Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, El Greco, and Tintoretto.
