Collection of Nasjonalgalleriet


The Nasjonalgalleriet, or National Gallery of Norway, is an art gallery located in Oslo, Norway.  Founded in 1837, the National Gallery is home to Norway’s largest public collection of paintings, drawings and sculptures.  Along with Norwegian art, the collection includes works from the Romantic era and modern works from 1800 to WWII.  Notable creations by Edvard Munch are on display as well as European pieces by Gauguin, Picasso, El Greco, Manet, Degas, Renoir, Matisse, Cezanne, and Monet among others.
