Collection of Norton Simon Museum


The Norton Simon Museum is an art museum located in Pasadena, California.  Over a 30 year period, industrialist Norton Simon accumulated an extensive collection of European art dating from the Renaissance to the twentiethp> century as well as a collection of South and Southeast Asian art spanning over 2,000 years.  This private collection along with the Modern and Contemporary art from Europe and the United States which was held by the former Pasadena Art Museum comprise the collection of the Norton Simon Museum.  There are over 12,000 pieces in the current collection.  Highlights of the permanent collection include works by artists such as Raphael, Rembrandt, Monet, Degas, Van Gogh, and Picasso
