Collection of The Minneapolis Institute of Arts


Located about six blocks from downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota the Minneapolis Institute of Arts holds a collection which has grown from only 800 pieces to a collection of over 83,000 pieces which span over 5,000 years.  Notable works in MIA’s permanent collection include European masterpieces by Rembrandt, Poussin, and Van Gogh; modern and contemporary painting and sculpture by Picasso, Matisse, Mondrian, Stella, and Close.  The collection also contains important collections of prints and drawings, decorative arts, Contemporary art, photographs, textiles, and Asian, African and Native American pieces.
