Collection of Yale University Art Gallery


Yale University Art Gallery is located on the campus of Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.  The Gallery was founded in 1832, when artist John Trumbull donated over 100 of his paintings to Yale College.  It is the oldest college art museum in the United States.  Today, the Gallery’s permanent collection includes over 200,000 works including all cultures and periods though it is renowned for early Italian painting, African sculpture, and modern art.  Works by Rubens, Hals, Rothko, Rauschenberg, Picasso, Mondrian, Monet and Van Gogh are all on display in the gallery.
